As part of the Southeast’s Automotive Corridor, Alabama has created a name for itself in automotive production and supplies production.
In just 30 short years, Alabama’s automotive sector grew from 15 companies to 86. In 2013, Alabama earned the No. 2 spot on Business Facilities Magazine’s annual state “Automotive Manufacturing Strength” ranking. Heavy emphasis is placed on growth potential for the state, as well as production figures and current industry trends.
The Coastal Gateway Regional EDA area is in the Southeast Auto Industry Corridor, within 200 miles of the following automotive plants:

With its quick access also to automotive OEM’s in Mexico through the U.S.-Mexico Interline Rail-Ferry Service and with its location and proximity to major highways, railways, and the Port of Mobile, the CGEDA area is a prime location for automotive supply companies looking to expand or relocate services with a motivated workforce and extensive training resources.
